Continue Hair Loss When Shampooing

Hair loss seems to be common to everyone, although in a number of different strands. Worse, the number of strands of hair that fall out will usually increase when the hair is wet, such as shampooing. The more touched and rubbed when cleaned, the more strands of hair will fall. Actually, what makes hair fall out easily when shampooing?

Why do hair fall out easily while shampooing?

At least for several times, your hair will never fall out while you're shampooing. Even after combing wet, several strands of hair appear to fall one by one as if leaving a trail.

I do not know because of experiencing hair loss problems or not at all, but hair loss can get worse when you shampoo. Usually, the number of strands of hair that fall out when the hair is in wet conditions will be far more, even many times more than when the hair is dry.

The good news is that it is still normal if the number of hairs that fall out is around 50-100 strands, according to the American Academy of Dermatology. This is because around 90-95 percent of hair follicles on the scalp are normal, usually in the active growth phase.

Hair follicles are the part or structure of the skin which is the place where hair grows. While the remaining 5-10 percent of the hair follicles are in the telogen phase. The telogen phase can be said to be the stage where hair growth is inactive.

In other words, strands of hair can easily fall when the embryo of new hair is growing. Well, shampooing or washing your hair can actually trigger the speed of the telogen phase. As a result, the hair becomes very easy to fall out, even in large quantities.

Not only that, using hot water when shampooing can make hair more fragile, making it easy to fall off. This was explained further by Ryan Welter, MD, a hair health expert in the United States.

According to him, the heat from the water during shampooing can make the hair dry, which in turn makes it fall out.

Hair loss is not normal if ...

The problem of your hair loss can be classified as unnatural, if the number of hairs falling is more than 100 pieces per day. This excessive loss every day is known as telogen effluvium.

This large amount of hair loss usually does not only occur when shampooing. However, also in other conditions, such as when the hair is dry.

This condition is usually caused by unbalanced hormone levels, lack of certain nutrient intake, medication, stress, to illness. However, telogen effluvium is usually temporary or does not last for a long time.
How can hair not fall out easily?

Want stronger hair and not easily fall off while shampooing, or when in wet conditions? Here are various ways you can do:

1. Manage stress well

Conscious or not, even the slightest stress can affect the condition of the hair. Even it does not rule out the possibility, it can make hair fall out easily while shampooing.

So, try to manage stress as well as possible, which can indirectly prevent more severe hair loss. You can start from doing light things like pursuing hobbies, as well as routinely exercising several times a week.

Undergoing meditation practice is also believed to make the body more comfortable and focused, so it can reduce stress.

2. Pay attention to daily food intake

Besides being good for health, eating a variety of foods with diverse nutritional content is also good for hair growth. Although various nutrients are actually important, there are several nutrients that further support hair growth.

It includes vitamin B, vitamin C, and vitamin E. If until now you are still struggling with the problem of hair loss, especially when shampooing, try to fill the daily food source with these nutrients.

3. Use drugs to stimulate hair growth

There are various choices of topical creams, medicines, and other care products that can help deal with hair loss.

Take for example like Minoxidil which is present in the form of creams and sprays, finesteride in the form of tablets, to corticosteroid drugs.

However, you are not advised to use these drugs without getting a recommendation from a previous doctor.
